Category: Greater Nederland Area Vision StatementsChipeta Park Enhancement ProjectPPHCP has obtained a $52,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) toward a total project cost of $99,925. Park renovation is scheduled for fall 2003 to Spring 2004.After the Town adopted the Gateway Park Master Plan in August 2002, PPHCP proposed that the Town decide which elements should be implemented first. The Town decided that renovation of the existing Chipeta Park be the top priority. The proposed improvements include: 1. renovation of the picnic shelter, 2. removing overgrown vegetation along the trail from First Street to the park, 3. reconfiguring the parking lot, 4. adding two seating areas along the creek, 5. replacing and expanding the irrigation system, 6. adding trail/interpretive signs, 7. adding new landscaping linking the playground and picnic shelter.
