CURRENT PROJECTS

    Greater Nederland Area Vision Statements

    • Town of Nederland Open Space Master Plan - The Town of Nederland Board of Trustees unanimously approved the Master Plan on September 11, 2001. The plan is available to the community at town hall or you can view it online by going to our home page and clicking on the plan icon.

    • Nederland Vision 2010 - In June 1999, we convened a community meeting to capture the vision for the Greater Nederland Area. Over a span of several months, over 200 community members met and crafted eight vision statements. A follow-up survey was sent to residents of the area to determine the priority of the statements.

    • Chipeta Park Enhancement Project - PPHCP has obtained a $52,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) toward a total project cost of $99,925. Park renovation is scheduled for fall 2003 to Spring 2004.

    • Open Space Acquisition and Management Plan - PPHCP obtained a $15,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to develop an open space acquisition and management plan. This will enable the town to immediately begin to purchase land for open space as well as implement sound management practices for the parcels.

    Economic Development

    • Nederland Economic Development - Facilitating and advising the Nederland Area Chamber of Commerce on
      developing the focus for the "new" chamber. Helping to raise funds and hire an outside consultant to conduct a market analysis.

    • Nederland Economic Summit 2003 - PPHCP facilitated the first annual Nederland Economic Summit on May 22, 2003. The goal of the event was to create the desirable economic future for the Greater Nederland Area.

    Project Management

    • Nederland Ice Rink and Tennis Courts - PPHCP is providing facilitation and project management for the Town of Nederland's ice rink and tennis court project.

    • Trails Master Plan 2005 - The 2001 report "Town of Nederland and Surrounding Areas Open Space, Trails, Parks and Outdoor Recreation Master Plan" called for the development of a Trails Master Plan. In 2005 that Trails Plan is now complete.

    Peak to Peak Community Indicators

    • Quality of Life Indicators Project - A new project to begin in 2001 to provide a process whereby the community develops a set of quality of life indicators to help citizens, businesses, non-profits and elected officials to determine positive trends (e.g., the indicators are going up or down), trends that need attention, and to illuminate interconnections among community issues. This project is regional in focus and will include Gilpin County and the Nederland area.

    Miscellaneous

    • Peak to Peak Family Resource Directory - The PEAK TO PEAK COMMUNITY RESOURCE DIRECTORY is now current - as of August 2005. Click the "Directory" tab above to view.

    • Community Celebration - Annual event where we honor and celebrate the individuals and groups who make our community a better place to live.

    • Nederland Area Non-profit Alliance - Convening and facilitating meetings of Nederland area non-profit groups in order to explore ways of working together and supporting each other.

    • Convening and Facilitating Community Meetings - PPHCP offers meeting facilitation, board training, grant writing assistance as well as consultation services.

    • Gilpin/Nederland Service Providers' Alliance - This service provider alliance is an outgrowth of the Mental Health Task Force meetings started in 2000. The meetings provide opportunities for service providers in the Gilpin and Nederland areas to network with and support each other. It now goes by the name of the ASPEN group (Area Service Providers Extended Network).
